GJEPC first tenant of India’s diamond bourse

Staff, Oct 15 2008
The Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) is the first tenant of recently opened Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB) situated in the suburban Bandra-Kurla area of Mumbai.

GJEPC's exhibitions department, which organizes the annual India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) and the Promotion, Marketing and Business Development cell, has shifted to the new complex, a report revealed. The report also revealed that the remaining divisions of GJEPC will also move in shortly. Other sectors related to diamond business like customs are expected to move in by 15 December 2008, it said.

BDB has been set up to provide infrastructural facilities for promotions of diamond and diamond jewellery from India. The objective of BDB is to promote and make India an International Trading Centre for Gems & Jewellery.
