Khurshida Modi was honored with the Lifetime Award for Outstanding Achievement at the fourth edition of the Retail Jeweller India Awards which concluded in Mumbai early last week. Rajiv Mehta, CEO of Dimexon Group and Prasad Kapre, Business Director, De Beers Group Marketing inaugurated the awards ceremony.
The event was hosted by Aly Khan and models like Aditi Gowitrikar, Gauhar Khan, Tejaswini Kolhapure were amongst the 50 other models who dazzled with various jewellery on stage. Eminent people including ace Fashion Designer Rohit Bal comprised the jury for the awards.
Every year the award is given to the retailers, brand owners, manufacturers and designers who make this industry an amazing place to be. The 4th Retail Jeweller India Awards 2008 had been designed to inspire creative wealth of design craftsmanship. The award was segmented into eight categories with a total of 25 awards.
The award 2008 invited more than 300,000 retailers of jewellery, 10,000 jewellery manufacturers/brand owners and top 10 design schools from across the country.
The contenders for Retail Jeweller Awards included TBZ, CKC-Bangalore, Prince Jewellery, Joy Alukkas, GRT-Chennai, Notandas, Anmol, Mahesh Notandass, Minawala, Orra, Nirvana, Gili, Damas, P N Gadgil Hazoorilal, Punjab Jewellers and Punjabi Saraf, jewellers from Bhopal, Guwahati, Calcutta, Surat, Amristar, Pune etc.
