Christien Meindertsma became the first winner of the new Rado Young Designer Award. Her design PIG05049 was selected on the basis of originality, inventiveness and investigation of materials by International design jury. Apart from winning the Rado 'Young Designer Award', Meindertsma also won the prize for best graphic design, and was named winner of the Golden Eye award by the Dutch Design Awards jury.
Rado initiated ‘The Rado Young Designer Award’ to encourage outstanding talent in the field of contemporary design. The Swiss brand also contributes in diverse ways to the education of young designers.
