IIJS’s silver jubilee edition begins today

India International Jewellery Show (IIJS) 2008 Asia’s second largest gems and jewellery exhibition was inaugurated today by Sanjay Kothari, Chairman GJEPC, Vasant Mehta, Vice Chairman, GJEPC and special guests Bill Champion, MD, Rio Tinto Diamonds.

International par there are over 250 International booths, over 2000 international visitors and seven international country Pavilions representing Italy, Belgium, Thailand, Japan, Dubai, Turkey and Israel are participating in this year’s show.

Delegations from Hungary, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Thailand, Israel and Iran today will discuss the road ahead for the Indian Gems and Jewellery sector and their respective countries.

This year the IIJS has 18,000 registered visitors, 800 exhibitors and 1600 booths.  Over 30,000 trade visitors are expected at the five-day show.
